I had a busy fun October with my family. Between soccer games, flag football, dance classes, pumpkin patches and Halloween parties there was never a dull moment around here!
Here is one of my favorite pictures of my kids from Bishops Pumpkin Patch…
My daughter was Rapunzel for Halloween, I took her out one morning and took these pictures of her…
My son wasn’t to keen on pictures this year but I did manage to catch one of him in his Brian Wilson Halloween costume with his sister…

I’ve been wanting to take my kids out for some silhouette pictures for weeks and now that soccer season is over, we finally have some time on our hands! You would think this would have been an easy session…they got to wear what they wanted and they didn’t have to smile, but no, of course not…they made we work for every single one of these shots! I was exhausted after this mini shoot with them! It’s true what other photographers say…it’s always much harder to take pictures of your own kids! Very true!
I must admit, I love the end result so I guess it was all worth it

It was a pleasure to finally meet up with this family! We already had to cancel our first session we had scheduled due to rain, it was looking like we were going to have to reschedule again but we ended up getting lucky…the rain held out! On Thursday I met up with my photographer friend Anna and her adorable family in Downtown Sacramento. She did such a great job dressing her family for the location she chose….I just loved her little girl’s outfits!

What’s the trick to getting a 3 year old to cooperate for a photo shoot
? Put them in their favorite costume! That’s exactly what I did a couple of weeks ago with my daughter. She had a blast just running around with some pumpkins and I got some adorable captures of her in one of her many Halloween costumes! It was a win, win for both of us!

I had a lot of fun with this family at the park and the vacant field across the street from the park on Friday evening! The parents’ are always a big help at getting their kids to smile and laugh for me but this dad was making ME laugh so hard I had to set my camera down a few times so I could catch my breath! I know how tough it can be to gather everyone together for a group picture so I commend this family for not only picking a date (something I still need to do with my extended family) but coordinating so well for the picture! What a beautiful morning it was at the park!

This Super Mom is very special to me. Not only does she watch my daughter for me while I work at my full time day job, she also is a single mom and owns a cupcake business in El Dorado Hills (Peek-a-Boo Cupcakes)! I was excited to be able to capture these photos for her and her children. Even though the photo shoot started out a little rough with me sliding down a hill and scraping up the side of my leg (what a klutz I am!), the gorgeous lighting and beautiful personalities of these three made up for it!
